  BIOGRAPHY
Myron Sheu earned his Ph.D. in computer science from Old Dominion University in 1992. Now, he is professor and department chair of information systems and operations management which offers three concentrations of the undergraduate business administration degree program and two concentrations of the MBA program at California State University, Dominguez Hills.
Dr. Sheu has conducted extensive research in both computer science and information systems. His Ph.D. dissertation explored an intelligent approach to monitoring complex computer systems and the framework of his intelligent approach was years ahead of cutting-edge software products for similar purposes such as Tivoli from IBM. The core idea of his dissertation was accepted for presentation at the joint IEEE and ACM international conference in 1991 and published in the conference proceedings. His thesis initiated in 1987 for his MS in computer science at Brigham Young University was about an object-oriented user interface management system while nearly all human and computer interactions are based on static and predefined user interfaces. His recent research projects have focused on issues in information system development amid the fact that the failure rate of IS projects remains to be extremely high. His research achievements have resulted in a long list of peer-reviewed publications that are enclosed as an appendix to this biography.
Between his two teaching positions at South Carolina State University and California State University, Dr. Sheu worked in industry in a variety of roles. He was a senior technical staff member at Hughes Space & Communications and then a system integration and applications architect Boeing Space & Communications in California for more than six years, specializing in enterprise system integration. Also, he worked as systems consultant for MTA, Ericsson, Motorola, Sierra Systems, and Los Angeles Law Enforcement Groups, and as software engineer for AutoSoft Corporation in Utah, during which he designed and developed numerous information systems in a networking environment. He received several industrial certificates such as systems engineering, project management, systems administration, CCNA, CCAI, etc. While working in industry, Dr. Sheu also earned an MBA in finance with a 4.0 GPA from California State University Long Beach through which he gained significant insight into Corporate America.
Dr. Sheu also possesses extensive administrative experience. He was acting associate dean for the College of Business Administration and Public Policy at CSU Dominguez Hills in 2006-2007 and also served as Director of Accreditation and Assessment for the College from 2005 to 2010. While serving as department chair since 2009, Dr. Sheu, among many other significant services, continues to chair the assurance-of-learning committee - one of the most critical committees in the College for accreditation purposes.
